Jim Rankin III
Jim Rankin is a resident of Bourbon County, where he owns 115 acres and leases 220 acres of land. His cropping program consists of 100 acres of soybeans, 30 acres of wheat and 50 acres of alfalfa. He also owns half interest in a 60 head cow-calf operation with his son.
In addition, Mr. Rankin owns six thoroughbred mares and he boards mares and foals. He holds his trainer’s license and is active in racing with a racing stable of 18 thoroughbreds.
A graduate of the University of Kentucky, Mr. Rankin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture. He is a member of the Disciples of Christ Church in Paris. He and his wife are parents of two children.
