June 4, 2015 - Mary-Lynn Hinkel has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Central Kentucky Ag Credit. She was elected by the Board of Directors and her current term will expire in 2016.
Board Chairman Alvin Lyons says the addition of Mary-Lynn to the Ag Credit Board of Directors is a giant step forward in adding depth-of-understanding and oversight as the Board guides policy for the Association. Ag Credit is a cooperative and is among the largest rural lenders in a 17-county central Kentucky area, with loans exceeding $400 million.
Mary-Lynn is one of two Outside Directors who serve on the Ag Credit Board. The other individual is Dr. Lionel Williamson, retired University of Kentucky Agriculture Economics Professor. Both Outside Directors are elected to their positions by the Ag Credit Board of Directors, with five other members of the Board elected by the membership of Central Kentucky Ag Credit.
Ms. Hinkel is a Director with the well-known Lexington accounting firm of Barr, Anderson & Roberts. As an Accountant, she specializes in compliance services, including tax, financial statements and consulting for businesses, individuals and non-profit organizations. Her service with Barr, Anderson & Roberts spans 21 years.
Ms. Hinkle is a Lexington native with extensive financial accounting experience. Prior to her career with Barr, Anderson & Roberts, she worked with Dean, Dorton, Allen & Ford PLLC in Lexington, and she was also the Federal Tax Manager for Jerrico, Inc., a Lexington-based firm that owned Long John Silvers and other restaurants.
Ms. Hinkle earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and she is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Tax
Committee with CPA Associates International. She is very active in many other organizations, including the United Way of the Bluegrass, where she is a member of the Agency Review Executive Committee; Treasurer and Board Member with Lexington & Central Kentucky Youth Salute; Member of the Banking Committee with Equestian Events, Inc.; Member of Women Leading Kentucky; Past Member of the Finance Committee and Education Committee with Cathedral of Christ the King in Lexington; and Past Treasurer and President of the Parent Teacher Organization with Christ the King School in Lexington.
